About the hike:  The Third Burroughs hike on the Sunrise side of Mt. Rainier gets you so close to the mountain, you could touch it.  We like this hike because it's above tree line so the views of the out and back hike are fantastic.  It is nine miles roundtrip with a 2500 ft elevation gain and makes it up to 7828ft, pretty fun for a day at elevation.

Best time to hike:  Summer only because the Sunrise road is only open in the summer.
